Pet of the Week: Puppa

This week we spotlight an exceptional pet available for adoption from a local rescue.

By Katie Bertoglio-Harris ~

Puppa loves everyone!  He was dropped off at Chicago Canine Rescue by his previous owner, as she is no longer able to care for him.  She was clearly devastated by her decision, but it was what she felt she needed to do for Puppa.  Since he has been in a loving home his whole life, he is very well-adjusted to home life.  He loves people of all ages, including kids, other dogs, and cats, too!

Although he is 8-years-old, Puppa still has tons of energy!  He gets so excited by toys, and absolutely loves playing fetch- he's a Labrador Retriever, after all!  Puppa currently weighs in at around 100 pounds!  He will be put on a diet and exercise program so that we can get him down to a healthier weight.  Whoever is lucky enough to adopt this great guy will need to be careful about his weight.

Puppa is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm tested.  If you are interested in learning more about him and his Chicago Canine Rescue buddies, visit http://www.chicagocaninerescue.org.  If you are not ready for the long term commitment of adoption, consider becoming a foster home or stop by and take a dog for a walk.  It's great for them, and good for you, too!
