Severe Storms Approaching Soon

The Office of Emergency Management advises you should be prepared to take shelter, probably within the hour.

The National Weather Service has advised that severe weather—including thunderstorms, downpours, high winds and large hail—is approaching the area, likely within the hour. 

Today is the first time in seven years temperatures in the Chicago area have reached 100 degrees, according to local meteorologists. Check out Patch's tips to stay cool and safety reminders when hot weather hits
