Skokie Resident Starts Grassroots Organization to Curb Gun Violence

Denyse Wang Stoneback created People For A Safer Society, which draws members from Skokie, Evanston and Morton Grove.

 

When Skokie resident Denyse Wang Stoneback heard about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, she decided it was time to take action and formed a grassroot organization People For A Safer Society to call for accountability against gun violence, Skokie Review reported. 

The group, which has about 50 members from Skokie, Evanston and Morton Grove, wants to educate about gun violence, mental health issues associated with violence and work for changes in the law on both the local and national levels, to learn more, visit People For A Safer Society’s Facebook page, Skokie Review reported.
