Keb' Mo'

With a depth of vocal expression reminiscent of Ray Charles and an earthy Delta blues guitar style that brings his happy listeners to the crossroads, this three-time Grammy Award winning artist for Best Contemporary Blues Album is a master at blending the blues with jazz, R&B and soul through his expressive use of lyric, melody and rhythm. Keb' Mo' provides a direct link to the celebrated art form of the Delta blues and the spirit of blues godfather, Robert Johnson that pervades his music. Keb' Mo's 2011 album, The Reflection, featuring collaborations with India.Arie, Vince Gill, Marcus Miller, Dave Koz, and David T Walker, received a 2011 Grammy nomination for Best Blues Album. Keb' Mo' notes, “Really, The Reflection is an Americana album if it’s anything. But soul and blues are just as much part of ‘Americana’ as anything else--and that’s the ‘Americana’ of which I’m a part.”

Keb' Mo' is also no stranger to the stage and silver screen. He portrayed Robert Johnson in the documentary Can't You Hear the Wind Howl? He also played himself, singing "America The Beautiful" during the inauguration scene of the moving series finale of the award-winning show The West Wing. He was in the acclaimed 2003 PBS series Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues: Feel Like Going Home and in Scorcese's concert documentary Lightning in a Bottle. He also appeared in John Sayles 2007 film Honeydripper. He also composed and performs the theme song and original music on the TNT drama Memphis Beat starring Jason Lee and Alfre Woodard.
