Teachers as Artists Art Show at the Skokie Public Library

The first annual show “Teachers as Artists” at the Skokie Public Library contains the work of art faculty members from District 219 and all of its sender schools. The public is invited to an opening reception with refreshments at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 9 at the Skokie Public Library, 5215 Oakton, Skokie. The exhibit will be on display in the Gallery through October 13.


“Teachers as Artists” feaures distinctive paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, sculpture and digital art. Included in the show are works by Lori Real, Michael Rush, Deanna Sortino, Barb Wismer, John Zilewicz, Amy Zwikel, Chris Sykora, Donna Seitzer, Jen Minelli, Katherine MacLennan, Amy MacCrimmon, Bev Feldmann, Meggie Boyle, Amanda Brooks, Dana Wade Kuzwayo, William MacBeth, Michelle Beatrice, Eve Rafas, Benjamin L. Keele, Debby Barabasz, Holly Lukasiewicz and Dan Doyle.


The exhibit celebrates the art instructor as a working artist and gives the community the opportunity to see the many talents and passions of art instructors from Skokie, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove and Niles.
