Skokie Flooded: Edens Closed; Post Photos Here

The heavy overnight rains have shut down the Edens Expressway at Pratt, according to a CINS news alert.

Skokie has 735 customers without electricity, but ComEd sent word at 9 a.m. it expects to have power back by 11 p.m. tonight, said Ann Tennes, the village's director of marketing and communications.

There is flooding throughout the village, which received 3.42 inches of rain as of 8 a.m. There are a few scattered street closures.

The village is asking residents to limit 911 calls to emergencies, limit non-essential travel, avoid walking or driving into standing water, and stay out of flooded basements, due to electrical hazards.

To report an electrical outage, call 800-344-7661 or text OUT to 26633.
