Judge Rules Against Lincolnwood Shooting Range

The ruling represents a setback for the shooting gallery, according to Crain's.



After the village of Lincolnwood turned down an application from Shore Galleries to open a shooting range in the 3300 block of Devon Avenue in Lincolnwood, Cook County Circuit Court Judge Mary Mikva sided with the village on Nov. 18, after Shore brought a civil lawsuit, according to chicagorealestatedaily.com.

Shore Galleries plans an appeal, according to a lawyer for the company. 

Earlier this year, Shore Galleries planned to build a 30,000 square foot gun shop and 16-lane firing range near Touhy and McCormick Avenues. Lincolnwood's village board turned it down, saying it was too close to three schools, three parks and a bike path.
