Skokie Car Dealer, Nicor Gas, ComEd in Dispute Over Dust

Evanston Subaru is asking for reimbursement for car washes retroactively starting March 1 through Nov. 30 and until the project is completed, Skokie Review reports.

Evanston Subaru is seeking compensation from Nicor Gas and ComEd for dust and dirt the car dealer says are blowing on its vehicles from where the companies have been cleaning up an 18-acre site of a former manufactured gas facility at the corner of Oakton and McCormick Boulevard, Skokie Review reported.

The cleanup site has real-time air quality monitoring, which is shared with the village and has met safety standards, and Rob Paddor, owner of Evanston Subaru, has acknowledged that the dirt and dust are not permanently hurting his vehicles, but told the newspaper that they are creating a nuisance and extra costs for his dealership.
