Skokie Natives Launch Online Fundraising Site
FunderHut.com brings crowdfunding to a local level, Skokie Review reported.
Skokie native Dan Salganik along with his brother Alan and father Eugene have launced FounderHut.com, a website that brings crowdfunding to a local level and is a mom-and-pop version of sites like KickStarter.com or Indiegogo.com, Skokie Review reported.
The website works with project creators to develop fundraising campaigns to market their goals to the local Internet community and projects are “variable” meaning creators can keep the amounts raised whether they meet their fundraising goal in time or not, which is different from sites like KickStarter.com, Skokie Review reported.

Chicago-based Siberian Animal Shelter used the site to raise $1,174 toward its $1,500 goal in less than two hours, and LETS GO Chicago, a local youth program, has so far raised $1,391 toward its $10,000 goal, Skokie Review reported.
