CVS, Produce World Get Green Light to Sell Alcohol

Skokie trustees approved a special use permit that allows the two retailers to sell packaged alcoholic beverages.

Soon Skokie residents will be able to purchase packaged alcoholic beverages at CVS Pharmacy and Produce World after village trustees approved the sale of package liquor as part of larger stores, Skokie Review reported.

Currently about 25 percent of all CVS stores in the country sell alcohol and that number is closer to 80 percent in Illinois; the hours of sales will be limited to store hours, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with the exception of Sunday when sales start at 8 a.m., Skokie Review reported.
