The Blue Shaped Debacle: What Should Replace 'Puppy Lovers?'
Located just across the street from the CTA Oakton Station's 'Kiss and Ride,' we wanted to know: What type of business would you like to see at the former Puppy Lovers building?
The “Puppy Lovers” building, or that odd shaped structure at 8101 Skokie Blvd., has been vacant for nearly a decade.
Surprisingly, the former business still has a website.
“Hello all, we are temporarily closed for remodeling,” the website reads. “Come back and visit us soon.”

The property almost found a suitor in May of last year.
Skokie resident Craig Hahn said he was interested in opening a coffee shop at the blue building, but changed his mind when he found out that it wasn’t located in the downtown TIF district.
