Turning Point Expands Services
The Skokie alternative to emergency room services expanded recently to welcome patients on more days, and with more services.
Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center in Skokie recently expanded its Living Room, an alternative to emergency room services, the Jewish Business News Chicago reports. The center, located at 8324 Skokie Blvd., now will be open five evenings a week, instead of three.
The expansion of hours and services also includes a registered nurse, and the center will hire and train more peer counselors. The Living Room opened in 2011, and offers support to clients with psychiatric emergencies in a more comfortable setting than an emergency room. Last year, the center received a $1.2 million grant to help it expand its services for those clients.
