WGN Rubs Shoulders With Skokie
Radio disc jockeys broadcast live from the Village Inn pizzeria Friday morning.
Every seat in the Village Inn was occupied this morning when WGN Radio brought its traveling road show to broadcast live from the pizzeria/ sports bar.
WGN's Bill Leff interviewed Mike Hammond of Aw Yeah Comics, which won the Skokie Chamber's Business of the Year Award, and Mayor George Van Dusen.
Leff joked that when he looked at the mayor's business card and saw it said "liquor commissioner" under mayor, he thought it said "liquor connoisseur." Van Dusen took it in stride, and told him being mayor is a great job, "not that I'm trying to encourage competition."
