Pet of the Week: Ranger

We spotlight an exceptional pet available for adoption from a local rescue.

By Katie Bertoglio-Harris

There are so many things to say about Ranger, and they are all great!  Ranger is in a foster home, so he knows the ins and outs of home living.  He is extremely polite and he knows basic commands and some really cute tricks, too!  Ranger travels beautifully in the car, walks nicely on a leash, does not need to be crated, and loves kids, cats and most dogs.  Initially he is a bit reserved, but he relaxes quickly and clearly enjoys attention and love!

Ranger is a nice size, weighing in at around 50 pounds.  His tricoloring is stunningly handsome!  He has such a dignified presence!  He is truly a gentle soul.  He is around 6 years old, so he's through the crazy puppy stage, but you can be certain this Australian shepherd mix has plenty of energy!  These guys tend to be very healthy and robust, as well as very intelligent and trainable!  He will be a loyal companion to the lucky family that adopts him, no doubt!

Ranger is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm tested.  If you are interested in learning more about him and his Chicago Canine Rescue buddies, visit http://chicagocaninerescue.org/.   If you are not ready for the long term commitment of adoption, consider becoming a foster home or stop by and take a dog for a walk.  It's great for them, and good
