Snapshot: Backlot Bash

Skokie celebrates annual festival with music, rides, food and more.

Thousand of guests visited downtown Skokie over the weekend for the 2011 Backlot Bash.  This was the fifth year of the three day celebration, the first was held in 2007.

Through Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday, guests enjoy a carnival with a variety of rides and games, delicious foods, live music performed by the Smoking Popes, Fastball, and numerous others, a 5k, a classic car show, a film festival, among others.

The weekend festival is coordinated by the Skokie Chamber of Commerce, the Skokie Park District, the Skokie Public Library, the Village of Skokie and the Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie along with a number of sponsors.
