BBQ for the Troops at Evanston Subaru in Skokie

On Saturday, July 20th, Evanston Subaru in Skokie is hosting a USO fundraiser; “Barbecue for the Troops”. From 11:30am to 2:30pm everyone is welcome to enjoy a BBQ lunch and donate to help our troops.

Evanston Subaru in Skokie is joining a national USO campaign to help raise awareness for the services needed by our military and their families, when overseas, or back home in the United States.

Rob Paddor, owner of Evanston Subaru in Skokie says, he has supported the USO and military families for many years. Mr. Paddor sits on the Board of Directors of the USO of Illinois and his Subaru store in Skokie hosted a USO fundraiser a few years ago that netted $20,000 in donations to the USO of Illinois.

The event will feature a delicious classic American BBQ of hamburgers, hot dogs and brats with all the fixings. Donations are encouraged. Evanston Subaru is also offering car washes while guests enjoy their BBQ lunch, for an additional donation to the USO.

The national “Barbecue for the Troops” campaign kicked off on Memorial Day and runs thru Labor Day Weekend. Donations to the USO can be made directly at http://www.teamuso.org/barbecueforthetroops/evanstonsubaru.

Almost as soon as this event ends, Mr. Paddor, is looking ahead to August 24th, when he and friends of Evanston Subaru will join Ride 2 Recovery for a 53-mile bicycle fundraiser in the Great Lakes Challenge. This charity also helps our veterans returning from military service. “We’re looking for riders to join in this great cause too,” said Mr. Paddor.
