Artistic Journey of Discovery (Free 8-Week Community Program for People with Parkinson’s)

Engaging in the creative process of art-making allows people with Parkinson’s to focus on their strengths and develop new techniques for managing symptoms. For some, it has enhanced their sense of communication, increased their self-expression and provided an opportunity for exploring a new interest, all while having the support of others who know what you’re going through. This group explores different art methods, such as digital drawing, videomaking, and prose through dictation. Adaptive tools and aids will be offered.

Join our Art Therapist Theresa Dewey, M.A.A.T. from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Lieberman Center for Health and Rehabilitation (2nd floor Creative Arts Therapy Studio), 9700 Gross Point Road Skokie, IL 60076. For more information or to register for the Winter 2013 session (as space is limited), please call 847/929-3022.
