University Guild Program: Janet Messenger on the Streets of Evanston

Join us in the University Guild Lounge of Scott Hall on Monday, January 21st at 1:30 pm to hear Janet
Messenger on the Streets of Evanston.

Janet Messenger has been researching Evanston
history for years and writing about it since 2001 when she began a monthly column in the Evanston RoundTable called Once upon a Time in Evanston. As the title suggests, she turns history into articles that read like stories.

Janet has also written two books about Evanston
history, The Streets of Evanston (2009) and The ABCs of Evanston (2011), as well as a 2013 Evanston calendar saluting the city’s 150th anniversary.

The purpose of the University Guild is to bring to
the membership of the Guild the intellectual resources of the University, to promote the interests of the University, to work for the collection and exhibition of the objects of art and to advance the development and appreciation of the fine arts in the University and in Evanston.
