LGBT Ordained Leaders in the Presbyterian Church—A Movement for Justice

Michael Kirby, a former

attorney and the pastor at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Chicago, opens our fall season on September 8th at 10:30 a.m. at the Ethical Humanist Society of Chicago, 7574 N. Lincoln Avenue in Skokie. Speaking on “LGBT Ordained Leaders in the Presbyterian Church—A Movement for Justice", Rev. Kirby will discuss his participation in the successful
30-year battle for the ordination of gay clergy in the church. He will describe it as a proxy for the larger debate between literalists and progressives and in the continuing struggle for marriage equality.

Please join us for coffee hour after the talk. All are welcome to our Sunday programs, which are free and open to the public, and childcare is
available. For more information,
