Movie: Patton
“Patton” is a stunning WWII epic depicting the life of General George S. Patton. It won seven academy awards including Best Picture and Best Actor. George C. Scott refused to accept his award, becoming the first actor ever to do so. The opening scene, with Patton delivering a speech in front of a full-screen American flag, became an iconic American image. The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant".
