Niles North Graduate featured at Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts

1966 Niles North High School graduate Errol Jacobson is featured in a solo exhibition titled "City" at Chicago's Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts.  Over 80 of his oil paintings will be on display beginning November 22, 2013.

Many years ago, Mr. Jacobson attended the newly demolished Village Art Gallery in downtown Skokie.   It was there that he obtained some of his basic early education in drawing and painting.

His subject matter is the often overlooked every day scenes and locations such as a group of people crossing a busy street, cars traveling down a highway or rain pounding on a car's windshield.   He also paints some recognizable landmarks, but does so not in a tourist-like rendition of the subject, but as a response to the way he sees and reacts to it.

Meet the artist at a free opening reception at the Palette and Chisel on Friday evening, November 22, 2013 from 5 - 8 pm.    The artworks will be on display through December 8, 2013.     http://www.paletteandchisel.org/  for more information.
