NTRRO To Host Election Law Attorney John Fogarty

Election law attorney John Fogarty will be the featured guest speaker at the  Niles Township Regular Republican Organization's (NTRRO) October 22 meeting. Mr. Fogarty serves on the Chicago Bar Association's 2013-2014 Election Law committee. He will discuss a new proposal to amend Article IV of the Illinois Constitution to change the way state legislative and representative districts are drawn. If the proposal is approved, a special commission would draw the boundaries rather than the legislature. The group behind this effort is called Yes For Independent Maps. Their goal is to create a system where more districts are competitive and not drawn so blatantly for the benefit of one political party. Ultimately, the proposal would result in a political system that is more fair and more responsive to Illinois voters. The NTRRO welcomes citizens interested in hearing Mr. Fogarty and learning more about this important proposal. The NTRRO serves Niles Township which includes Lincolnwood, Skokie, Morton Grove, Niles, the Village of Golf and the east side of Glenview. Coffee and soft drinks will be served at the meeting. Call (847) 675-6745 for more information.
