Grand Opening of Chicago Jewish Funerals, Inc. - Skokie Chapel

CHICAGO JEWISH FUNERALS DEDICATES NEW CHAPEL IN SKOKIE
SECOND CHAPEL MARKS 14 YEARS OF COMMUNITY COMMITMENT
 
WHEN:                 Thursday, September 1, 2011 - 4:30pm to 6:30pm
WHERE:               Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, IL 60077
WHAT:                 Dedication of the new Chicago Jewish Funerals chapel in Skokie. The event will include a ribbon cutting with Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen, and remarks by David Jacobson, founder, Chicago Jewish Funerals including recognition of Cook County Medical Examiner Dr. Nancy L. Jones for her service to the community.  Tours of the new building and a reception with follow the ceremony.

WHY:                    Founded in 1997, Chicago Jewish Funerals has grown from a small storefront to the leading independent Jewish funeral service in the Chicago area.
The dedication will be in appreciation of the three mentors of David Jacobson, founder of Chicago Jewish Funerals and in memory of three people personally close to Mr. Jacobson, including his late older brother Michael Jacobson, who died in August 2010.
OTHER:                 For years, the vacant lot at the intersection of Skokie Boulevard, Niles Center Road and Dempster had been a vacant eye sore. With this new building, Chicago Jewish Funerals creates a beautiful, life-affirming piece of architecture for the community.
