Good Samaritans Rescue Girl at Evanston Beach

Two women rescued a young girl who was pulled out to shore Thursday afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazards statement for the area.

Two women rescued a young girl this afternoon after strong waves pulled her roughly 100 yards from shore at South Boulevard Beach, the Evanston Review reports. 

One woman spotted the girl bobbing far off shore and called another woman to help the girl, who is now in good condition,according to the Evanston Review

The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazards statement for all of Lake Michigan from Illinois through Indiana, in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday through late Friday night. Dangerous waves and currents are expected along the shore, according to the NWS, and "conditions may be life-threatening to anyone entering the water."
