Diane P. Spanjer, age 82 of Skokie, Founder, along with her late husband, of Congregation Bene Shalom, very active with the Chicago Club for the Deaf, the Fraternal Order of the Deaf, past president of Stewart School PTA, beloved wife and best friend for 57 years of the late David "Max" Spanjer; beloved mother of Byron (Pam), Mike (Nancy), Samara (Michael) Lingafelter, Susan (John) Garza, Alan (Dr. Carolyn Stern), Marc (Rabbi Marla Subeck) and Dani (Sarah); loving mother-in-law of Martha and the late Debby; adored Grandmother of Sara, Lauren (Peter), Tessa (Ed), Elan, Craig, Joseph, Patricia, David, Andrea, Spencer, Rachel, Joanna (David), Lydia, Rebekah (Julian), Zachary, Zipporah, Benjamin, Tobias and Michal; proud Great Grandmother of Eddie, Talia, David, Davie, Tasha, Derek, Jaedon, Drew, Arlo and Layla; dear sister of the late Jeanne (late Barry) Erlich. 

Service Tuesday, February 18 at 12 noon, Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
