The Village of Skokie will have a first reading of the new Beekeeping Ordinance tonight at the 8pm Board of Trustees meeting. It's open to the public, so please come and support the people who are or want to be backyard beekeepers in Skokie. Currently, beekeeping is not illegal in Skokie, but it looks like the village is trying its best to make it legal with an ordinance that seems unbelievably expensive and highly supervised by the village.
