$10,000 In Jewelry Stolen In Skokie Home Burglary

Residential Burglary

• Residential Burglary on the 7900 block of Niles Avenue, on November 15th between 6:20 a.m. and 3:20 p.m.  Reported: 11/15/13. The unknown offender entered the garden apartment and removed a Samsung laptop, Ipad2, a Citizen’s Watch, and $100 in currency.

• Residential Burglary on the 8100 block of Lowell Avenue, on November 15th between 3:15 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.  Reported: 11/15/13. The unknown offender entered the rear door of the residence by using a pry tool.  Nothing reported missing.

• Residential Burglary on the 8700 block of Monticello Avenue, on November 16th, between 6:45 p.m. and 8:50 p.m.  Reported: 11/16/13. The unknown offender forced open the west side door of the residence.  Once inside, the offender removed approximately $10,000 in jewelry and a black Ipad mini with a pink case. 

Disorderly Conduct

• Disorderly Conduct on the 8900 block of Bronx Avenue, on November 11th between 10:00 a.m. and 10:33 a.m.  Reported: 11/15/13. The offender was creating a disturbance by screaming and yelling in his apartment.  The offender was transported to Skokie Hospital for medical observation.

Criminal Damage To Property

• Criminal Damage To Property on the 8100 block of East Prairie, between November 14th at 1:00 p.m. and November 15th at 1:45 a.m.  Reported: 11/15/13. The unknown offender used an unknown object to shatter the rear windshield on a red 2008 Honda Element.  Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

• Criminal Damage To Property on the 10000 block of Frontage Road, on November 15th at 1:47 p.m.  Reported: 11/15/13. The unknown offender smashed the passenger window on the silver Toyota Camry, which was parked in the rear lot.

• Criminal Damage To Property on the 7400 block of Kedvale Avenue, on November 15th between 7:05 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.  Reported: 11/15/13. The unknown offender slashed the rear passenger tire on the victim’s vehicle.  The victim suspects a relative.

• Criminal Damage To Property on the 9000 block of Forestview Road, between November 9th at 4:00 p.m. and November 12th at 8:00 a.m.  Reported: 11/16/13. The rail on a black metal fence was damaged by unknown means.

Burglary from a Motor Vehicle

• Burglary from a Motor Vehicle on the 7900 block of Kostner Avenue, between November 16th at 11:30 p.m. and November 17th at 9:30 a.m.  Reported: 11/17/13. The unknown offender entered the GMC Yukon and removed an OUKU car stereo.

• Bonnet, Ferris, 1700 block of Rogers Avenue, Chicago, 28, arrested on charges of Possession of Cannabis on the 4800 block of Dempster Street, Skokie, on 11/15/13.

• Mercer, Randall Thomas, 700 block of Gray Street, Evanston, 34, arrested on charges of Forgery, 8400 block of McCormick Boulevard, Skokie, on 11/15/2013.

• Juvenile arrested on charges of Retail Theft at 4909 Old Orchard Road, Skokie, on 11/15/2013.

• Juvenile arrested on charges of No Driver’s license, on the 8000 block on Knox Avenue, Skokie, on 11/16/13.
