$11K Worth of Coats Stolen From Bloomingdale's

Two woman are alleged to have stolen more than $11,000 worth of designer coats from Bloomingdale's in Old Orchard Mall, police said.

More than $11,000 of Moncler designer coats were reported stolen from Bloomingdale's in Old Orchard Mall on Oct. 29, police said. Five of the coats were valued at $1,295 each with another five valued at $975 each.

The subjects were able to flee the store before being apprehended, the report stated. They were described as two black females, about 17-years-of age, both weighing about 130-pounds. One was wearing a black jacket while the other wore a Northface jacket, the report stated.

According to the report, the two fled in what was described as a 1989 Maroon Mercury Grand Marquis.

However, store employees were able to provide police with a license plate number of a vehicle the alleged offenders fled with, the report said. No arrests have been made at this time.

In June, the Chicago Tribune reported instances of organized retail theft rings occurring throughout the Chicagoland area. According to the Tribune, groups were stealing large amounts of designer clothes from retail outlets.

The following month, it was also reported that five people were targeting stroes at Old Orchard Mall and stealing large amounts of designer clothes from businesses, the Tribune reported. Those suspects were ultimately caught and charged.
