I live in Niles and yet I hear about how bad Skokie is getting all the time. I have a neighbor in fact who moved from Skokie because they were being harassed by so called gang bangers. I really hope Skokie can solve these problems before they invade all of these suburbs like Morton Grove and Niles.

And this latest incident happened near MADISON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Armed robbery near MADISON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, where CHILDREN are STILL PRESENT due to after school activities. It is well past time to rid Skokie of this criminal element as well as the ineffectual leadership that is doing NOTHING to stop it.

Has anyone ever emailed any of the trustees regarding crime activity in Skokie and received a response? I have emailed all trustees on several occasions and have never received a response. Only recently did I receive an auto-email response from the Village when I responded to the Revised Rental Ordinance that was discussed at the 11/18 Village Board Meeting. This is an ordinance that could help with the existing bad tenant problem that is contributing to Skokie's crime issues, but yet after two years, many volunteer hours on the Skokie Voice Housing Committee (myself & others) and a Village appointed committee that was formed to draft this ordinance, this ordinance still cannot get revised. But, worse yet, there is a multi-family housing ordinance currently in place that is not being utilized to the fullest. And, Village trustees continue to claim "crime has not changed in 10 years" ! Poor leadership that we are stuck with because the Skokie Caucus Party is rigged! Niles and Morton Grove are looking like great options!
