Blotter: Car Break-In, Vandalism

Criminal Damage to Property

Someone reported that an offender used spray paint to draw a six-point star with the numbers "7414" written underneath it in black marker on a garage door to a business on the 4600 block of Oakton Street, on June 15 at 6 p.m.

Theft

A woman reported that an unknown offender removed her wallet from inside her purse that was hanging on her chair at Portillo's Restaurant, on June 15 at 3 p.m..  Her wallet contained four credit cards that were subsequently used at several different stores in the area.

Someone reported that an unknown offender(s) removed a wooden wall mounted cabinet set from the locked basement storage area of the building.

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

A woman reported that unknown offender(s) entered her vehicle on the 9200 block of Kolmar, between June 13 at 10:50 p.m. and June 14 at 8 a.m. and removed a briefcase from the floor of her vehicle containing sensitive information from her place of employment, as well as her wallet. The wallet contained her driver's license, health cards and other personal information.  

Criminal Defacement of Property

Skokie Hospital reported the person(s) unknown used yellow spray paint to draw unidentifiable markings onto the wall and overhead water pipes inside of a covered walkway area between June 13 at 8 p.m. and June 14 at 9a.m.

Arrests

Chase Langston, 21, of Skokie, was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis on June 15.

Jamal R. Wilson, 23, of Skokie, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding more than 30 mph over the posted limit, driving with no valid insurance, improper lane usage and driving with only one headlight.
