Devastating Head-on Crash Near Skokie Border

Details are limited, so check back tomorrow for an update.

A devastating head-on collision occurred near the intersection of Golf and Harms roads around 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Skokie police were not on scene because the crash involving at least two vehicles happened just outside their border in neighboring Morton Grove.

It is unclear what injuries were sustained or what caused the crash.

More than half a dozen officers and firefighters blocked off traffic going west on Golf Road and south on Harms Road. Firefighters were seen taking an ax to the hood of one car in an attempt to separate the vehicles.

It is the third accident that has occurred near a Skokie border in less than three weeks. Last week, Patch reported that a man hijacked a vehicle and kidnapped a man  near Lincoln and Marmora avenues.
