Update, Tuesday afternoon

Future Evanston Township Assessor Sharon Eckersall, 69, was found dead in her home Wednesday morning, according to police.
Paramedics were called to her home in the 2500 block of Ashland Avenue after a tenant in the building reported that she was found unresponsive in her bed around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. When paramedics determined that she was dead, police were also called to the scene.
"Based on the scene examination by investigators, there is no apparent indicators of foul play at this time," Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott said in a press release.
However, Parrott said police are still investigating her death, and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Eckersall was expected to take office as Evanston Township Assessor in January 2014, when current assessor Bonnie Wilson steps down. Eckersall preceded Wilson in office and served for three terms. She also worked in real estate, as a broker with Coldwell Banker, and ran a failed bid for election as Cook County Assessor in 2009.
