Former DUI Offender Endangers Infant

A 6-month-old infant and 2 other children were riding in the backseat without restraints.

Miguel Castrejon, 22, of the 900 block of Fowler Street in Evanston, was charged with one felony count of driving on a suspended license and endangering an infant on July 9.

According to the report, Castrejon was stopped for a traffic violation near the 7200 block of McCormick Boulevard. When police asked Castrejon for his license and insurance, he told police, “I ain't got s*** man.”

During the stop, police discovered a 6-month infant without a child seat, a 7-year-old child and 10-year-old unsecured in the backseat of the vehicle.

Castrejon’s license was suspended in May due to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the report. His court date is July 22.
