Auto theft

A blue SUV was stolen near the intersection of Madison and Knox avenues on May 28. According to the report, the owner said he was in possession of both sets of keys. No shattered glass to indicate force entry was found at the scene.

Home burglary

A home in the 4600 block of Dempster Street was burglarized on May 31. According to the report, the victim said when she returned from the grocery store, she noticed more than $2,000 in jewelry was missing. Police also discovered pry marks on an eastside door.

Theft from motor vehicle

A $500 purse, cell phone, debit card and iTouch were stolen from a vehicle parked at Village Crossing in Skokie on May 31. According to the report, the passenger side window was smashed open to gain access to the vehicle.

Jewelry heist

More than $13,000 worth of jewelry was taken from a woman staying at a friend’s house in the 8500 block of Christiana Avenue on May 31. According to the report, the jewelry's owner suspect the items were taken during a party attended by more than 100 people.

Garage burglary

A woman’s mountain bike was stolen from a garage behind a home in the 8000 block of Kenneth Street on May 31. According to the report, the woman said the garage door was usually unlocked.
