Friday Blotter: $9K in Tools Stolen

The following arrest information was supplied by the Skokie Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. At Skokie Patch, we update our blotter daily.


Brian Leww Sowa, of Schiller Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Nov. 1. Sowa was stopped for speeding near the 5400 block of Oakton Street, the report said. He had a blood alcohol content level of .149, according to the report.

Stolen wallet

A woman taking a culinary class at Williams-Sonoma reported her wallet stolen on Sept. 30.

Stolen bathtub

A bathtub, vanity, closest doors, light fixtures and furnace were reported stolen from the 8200 block of Kostner Avenue on Oct. 29. The estimated value of said items is around $4,200, the report stated.

Keyed car

A car parked in the 7000 block of Carpenter Road, or Village Crossing, was scratched with a sharp object on Nov. 10.

Stolen tools

About $9,000 worth of tools were reported stolen from a van parked in the 10000 block of Old Orchard Court on Nov. 7.

Did they take the water in the bathtub too? Perhaps they wanted to wash their hands of the theft.
