Friday Blotter: 'Aggressive' Animal

Animal control

A woman came into the Skokie police station to make a harassment complaint on Jan. 15. According to the report, a neighboring condo resident came to her door with an unleashed pit bull and told the woman her son was talking too loudly.

The woman added that the dog was behaving in an "aggressive" manner, the report stated. The man was issued a citation for having an unlicensed animal and allowing a pit bull to run around the common areas of the condominium unleashed, the report stated.

Stolen plate

A man reported his front license plate stolen from his car parked in the 3800 block of Brummel Avenue on Jan. 15.

Attempted burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 3300 block of Wilder Street on Jan. 20. According to the report, the offender(s) attempted to gain access through a locked window but was unsuccessful.

An unknown person(s) attempted to gain entry into Community Health, 4043 Main St., on Jan. 6 or 7. The offender was unsuccessful, however, the report stated.

Macy’s theft

Anderson Bacette, 23, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft on Jan. 20. According to the report, Bacette put on several pieces of clothing from Macy’s in Old Orchard and attempted to leave – while wearing them – without paying.

Hollister theft

A manager at Hollister in Old Orchard Mall reported that an unknown person stole her cell phone while she was folding clothes on Jan. 5. The phone was placed on a display table, the report stated.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 10000 block of Frontage Road was reported vandalized on Jan. 21. According to the report, several windows were damaged.

CTA shelter vandalized

Red spray paint was used to vandalize a CTA bus shelter near the Skokie Swift train station on Jan. 7.

Cabbie bilked

A cab driver reported being bilked out of a $14 fare on Jan. 10. The driver told police a woman exited the vehicle through the car’s window.
