Friday Blotter: Bible Stolen

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 8600 block of Hamlin Avenue was reported vandalized on March 6. According to the report, a blunt object was used to break the rear window of the sedan. No items were reported missing.

A car parked outside Wilde and Greene Restaurant in Old Orchard Mall was reported burglarized on March 6. According to the report, the victim’s passenger side window was busted open with a blunt object. An Apple iPad2, backpack and bible were reported missing.

Slashed tires

A car parked in the 3900 block of Kirk Street was reported vandalized on March 4. According to the report, the front and rear tires were slashed.

Stolen iPhone

A man reported his iPhone stolen while playing basketball at Lee Wright Park in the 3700 block of Lee Street on March 10.

Wallet stolen from hanging purse

A woman reported that an unknown person removed her wallet while at Barnes & Noble in Village Crossing on March 10. According to the report, the woman had her wallet inside her purse, which was hanging on the back of her chair. The victim soon realized that an unauthorized transaction occurred at a nearby Target, the report said.
