Rash of vehicle burglaries

A car parked in the 5100 block of Greenleaf Avenue was burglarized on Aug. 17. According to the report, about $30 and several papers were taken from the vehicle. The report did not indicate the point of entry.

A car parked in the 5200 block of Lee Street was reported burglarized on Aug. 17. According to the report, a cell phone valued at $250 was taken from the vehicle. The victim told police he thought his car was locked.

A purse containing several credit cards was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 3800 block of Harvard Avenue on Aug. 19.

A 2008 Jeep Compass parked in the 9400 block of Central Parked was burglarized on Aug. 17. According to the report, the vehicle was left unlocked.

A car parked in the 8900 block of Lavergne Avenue was broken into on Aug. 19. According to the report, an iPod valued at $300 was stolen from the vehicle. The owner told police his car was locked, but that he might have left a window open.

A police radar detector and toolbox were reported stolen from a car parked in the 8900 block of Knox Avenue on Aug. 19. According to the report, the victim told police he had locked the car's doors.
