Friday Blotter: DVD Dispute Spurs Fight, DUI Arrests

Wendy Wallack, 19, was charged with disobeying a red light, having no proof of insurance and driving under the influence of drugs on Jan. 22 around 2 a.m. Police reported stopping Wallack after she ignored a red light and almost struck another vehicle near the 8000 block of Lincoln Avenue. Wallack then failed a field sobriety test and police suspected her to be on drugs. Later, a urine sample was taken and police are currently awaiting results.

On Jan. 29 around 12:25 a.m., police stopped Murtaza Musawwir, 23, of the 7200 block of Keating Avenue in Lincolnwood, after his vehicle hit the sidewall of a highway ramp near the 5500 block of Dempster Street. While Musawwir provided a breath sample of .55 more than an hour later, he did fail the field sobriety test and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Danny Robinson, 43, of the 6200 block of Magnolia Street in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license on Jan. 29 around 5 p.m. Police reported that Robinson was found drinking vodka and grape juice while he operated his vehicle near Ewing Avenue and Church Street. He had a blood alcohol content level of .67.

3 against 1 in fight

Police responded to the 7600 block of East Prairie Road regarding a battery on Jan. 29 around 12 a.m. A man told police that three people attacked him near the Skokie Swift train station. According to the report, the victim got into a fight after being accused of stealing a DVD player. Police did not charged anyone in the incident.
