Friday Blotter: Grand Theft Semi

Grand theft semi

A semi truck parked outside Logistics Inc., 5115 Church St., was reported stolen on Feb. 15. According to the report, Skokie police later received a call from Florida authorities stating they saw the stolen vehicle. Florida police added that they saw the semi prior to being notified of the alleged theft, the report said. The vehicle has yet to be recovered.

A man allegedly posted naked pictures of his ex-girlfriend on Facebook on Feb. 15 after the two had gotten into an argument, police said. The alleged victim is now seeking an order of protection from her former lover.

Burglary

A home in the 7400 block of Kilbourn Avenue was reported burglarized on Feb. 14. According to the report, several pieces of jewelry with a combined value of $9,600 were missing from the home. The woman told police that she recently had cable installed in her home and suspects the installation men to have taken her jewelry, the report said.

Identity theft

A man came into the Skokie police station to report an identity theft on Feb. 14. According to the report, an unknown person opened several accounts in the man’s name without his knowledge.
