Friday Blotter: Hair Removal Device Stolen

Party results in stolen credit card

A woman came into the Skokie police station to report a deceptive practice on Jan. 8. According to the report, the victim was at a party when she realized that her purse was missing. She would then call her credit card company to cancel her cards and found out that about $70 was charged to her account at a nearby 7-Eleven.

Police were able to view the transaction in question and the victim was able to identify three of the four suspects, according to the report. The woman told police that the suspects were her friends, according to the report.

Laser hair removal device stolen

A laser hair removal device valued at around $400 was reported stolen from Bloomingdales in Old Orchard Mall on Jan. 8. According to the report, the suspect fled the scene before police could detain him.

Graffiti

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 8900 block of Bronx Avenue on Jan. 9. According to the report, black spray paint was used to write the letters, “VAC” and “VACT.”
