Attempted burglary

A woman told police that her rear door was nearly kicked in while she was home in the 8600 block of Keystone Avenue on Feb. 9. According to the report, the suspect(s) did not gain entry, but their attempt to gain entry severely damaged the back door.

Battery

Two Hispanic males jumped a Skokie man inside Kostner Korner, 4356 Kostner Ave., on Feb. 5. The victim had a bloody mouth but told police he didn’t want to file charges.

Identity theft

A woman came into the Skokie police station to report an identity theft on Feb. 6. According to the report, an unknown person used unknown means to obtain her information and purchase several cell phones with AT&T. The combined value of the alleged theft was more than $1,400.

Grand theft auto

A man reported his car stolen as it sat in the parking lot outside LA Fitness, 3330 Touhy Ave., on Feb. 10. According to the report, the suspect stole the victim’s belongings from his locker and then took his vehicle. The victim was able to catch up to the culprit and told police he thinks he knows who it is. Police are investigating.
