Friday Blotter: Robbery Outside Hotel

Robbery outside hotel
Police responded to a robbery outside Holiday Inn, 5300 Touhy Avenue, on Feb. 26. According to police, a man was outside the hotel when an unknown person grabbed him by the hood of his jacket. The offender then pulled out a knife, police stated.
The victim was able to escape, however, and the offender fled the scene. No injuries were reported.

Stolen accessory
Police responded to a theft at AT&T, 9725 Skokie Blvd., on Feb. 26. According to police, the offender removed a cell phone accessory and fled the store. No arrests were made.

Theft at TJ Maxx
Elzibetia Skalska, 49, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft on Feb. 26. Skalska attempted to steal several items from TJ Maxx, 3337 Golf Road, but was apprehended by store security and later charged by police, the report stated.
Stolen tools
Several tools were reported stolen from a home in the 8100 block of Laramie Avenue on Feb. 26. The offender(s) gained entry through a basement window, the report stated.
Driving with Mary Jane
Lucretia McCoy, 35, of Evanston, was charged with possession of cannabis, driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured vehicle. Police did not indicate where or why McCoy was stopped.
