Friday Blotter: Scooter Operator Hit With DUI Charge

Scooter driver charged with DUI

Kenneth S. Jahn, 53, of the 8800 block of Ewing Avenue in Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, among other charges, on Sept. 15. According to the report, police responded to an accident near the 3700 block of Oakton Street. They found Jahn lying in the street and his scooter was on its side. Jahn appeared to have a broken leg, according to the report.

Jahn told police he had been drinking and that his license was revoked. His court date is Oct. 17.

Pot Bust of Driver

Barry A. Marquez, 51, of the 2300 block of Bradley Plaza in Evanston, was charged with possession of cannabis on Sept. 16. Marquez was originally stopped in the 5000 block of Dempster Street for not wearing a seat belt. Police discovered that his license was suspended and found a little more than a gram of marijuana inside his vehicle.

DUI

Shou Fang Wu, 25, of the 2500 block of Victor Avenue in Glenview, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Sept. 17. According to the report, Wu was stopped after police saw his vehicle swerving near Howard Street and Hamlin Avenue. His blood alcohol content level tested at .171.
