Friday Blotter: Sleeping at Wheel, DUI

Sleeping at wheel
Todd Jaffe, 41, of Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 24. Jaffe was found sleeping behind the wheel in the 7800 block of Kostner Avenue around 6:40 a.m. He had a blood alcohol content level of .101, the report stated.
Criminal trespass

A 24-year-old Northbrook man was charged with criminal trespass after he went to Pot Belly Sandwich Works in Old Orchard Mall on Dec. 27. According to the report, the suspect was previously banned from the mall for one year stemming from a prior incident at the mall.

A woman reported receiving vulgar and threatening text messages from an unknown person on Dec. 27.
Natural death occurrence
Police responded to a death investigation that was later reclassified as a natural death in the 7700 block of LeClaire Avenue on Dec. 28. Upon arrival, they found a man who was well over his 80s unresponsive in his bed. According to the report, the man’s wife found him dead around 3 a.m. that day.
GPS stolen
A man reported his GPS device stolen from his vehicle parked in the 4900 block of Hull Avenue on Dec. 30.
