Aaron J. Vialdores, 18, of Skokie, told police he and his friend, another 18-year-old whose name was blacked out in the report, were in Evanston earlier in the evening and he was trying to pick up some girls. He said the friend was “c**k blocking” him while he tried to get a girl’s phone number.

A retail store theft was reported in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center on July 31, according to police. Two female juveniles were arrested at Nordstrom after they were observed entering a fitting room together with numerous clothes and exiting 30 minutes later without the items in their hands.

As the pair left the store at Old Orchard Mall, security personnel detained them. Items valued $815.70 were found in the two large purses that the girls were carrying, according to the police report.

Both juveniles told police they took the items because they liked to wear nice clothing. The girls were released to their fathers and advised a juvenile detective will contact them.

Friend shot with pellet gun

Police were dispatched to Skokie Hospital in the 9600 block of Gross Point Road to talk with a 17-year-old juvenile who was shot in the neck with a BB pellet July 28.

Another teenager told police he started goofing around with a BB gun by shooting empty cans on the back porch. In the afternoon, a friend and his girlfriend arrived at the residence in the 3800 block of Golf Road.

While inside the house, the BB gun owner picked it up. Thinking that the gun was unloaded, the teen pointed it at his friend and pulled the trigger. He said he began to panic and noticed his friend was bleeding from the throat. Though the friend's girlfriend called 911, he decided to drive his injured friend to Skokie Hospital.

Police confiscated pellet gun.
