Theft from motor vehicle

A car parked in the 8800 block of Bronx Avenue was reported burglarized on Aug. 10. According to the report, the vehicle was left unlocked and a leather wallet containing numerous credit cards was stolen.

A car parked in the Oakton Pool parking lot was burglarized on Aug. 10. According to the report, the driver’s side window was smashed to gain entry. An iPhone and a purse containing several credit cards were taken.

Work theft

A woman reported her purse stolen on Aug. 10. According to the report, the owner said the purse on her desk while at work. After leaving her belongings unattended, she returned to her desk to find items missing.

Hotel theft

About $2,500 in electronics was stolen from a woman staying at the Holiday Inn in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue on Aug. 8. According to the report, the victim left her bag unattended.

License plate stolen

A car parked in the 8900 block of Lavergne Avenue had its license plates stolen on Aug. 8. According to the report, the victim received an unruly text message prior to the incident from a former girlfriend claiming she was going to “f*** up your car.”

Stolen wallet

A man riding the Skokie Swift train line reported his wallet stolen on Aug. 10.
