ID Thief Opens $2,800 Student Loan In Victim's Name, Police Say

Identity Theft

• Identity Theft on the 4500 block of Main Street, on September 24th at 5:26 p.m.  Reported:  09/24/2013.An unknown person(s) attempted to apply for unemployment benefits using the victim’s  personal information. 

• Identity Theft on the 9000 block of Keating Avenue, between December 7, 2007,  at 1:00 p.m. and September 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.  Reported:  09/26/2013. An unknown person(s) opened a student loan in the victim’s name in the amount of $2,749.79.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories

• Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories on the 4900 block of Old Orchard Road, on September 25th at 5:23 p.m.  Reported:  09/25/2013. An unknown person(s) stole a catalytic converter from a Pontiac Sunfire. 

• Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories on the 5000 block of Dobson Street, between September 21st at 4:00 p.m. and September 23rd at 6:00 a.m.  Reported:  09/25/2013. An unknown person(s) stole a catalytic converter from a Chevrolet Malibu.

• Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories on the 4900 block of Old Orchard Road, on September 25th between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.  Reported:  09/25/2013. An unknown person(s) removed catalytic converter from a Chevrolet Cavalier.

Criminal Defacement of Property

• Criminal Defacement of Property on the 8500 block of Niles Center Road, on September 25th at 8:44 p.m.  Reported:  09/25/2013. An unknown person(s) used silver colored spray paint to draw graffiti on the wall.

Criminal Trespass to State Supported Land

• Criminal Trespass to State Supported Land at 9050 Gross Point Road, Skokie Public Works, on September 24th at 6:08 p.m.  Reported:  09/24/2013. Two Juveniles climbed the fence and gained entry into the Skokie Public Works yard.  The Juveniles were seen climbing and jumping off obstacles.  Both Juveniles were given local ordinance citations for trespassing. 

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

• Burglary from Motor Vehicle on the 3800 block of Jerome Street, on September 24th between 5:45 p.m. and 6:10 p.m.   Reported:  09/24/2013. An unknown person(s) broke out a rear window on a Honda and removed the victim’s car stereo.

• Burglary from Motor Vehicle on the 8800 block of Lacrosse Avenue, between September 24th at 5:00 p.m. and September 25th at 7:00 a.m.  Reported:  09/25/2013. An unknown person(s) stole an IPod and a wedding ring from the glove compartment of an unlocked Volkswagen.

Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property

• Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property on the 8000 block of Keating Avenue, on September 24th between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Reported:  09/24/2013. An unknown person(s) wrote words in the wet cement.

All Other Disorderly Conduct

• All Other Disorderly Conduct on the 4600 block of Grove Street, on September 24th at 5:45 p.m.  Reported:  09/24/2013. The victim reported that he has been receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown person.

Arrests

• Diaz, Edin J., 26, of Grand Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested for Driving without a Valid Driver’s License on the 5400 block of Dempsteron 09/24/2013.

• Chimon, Mark, J., 25, of North Clifton Street, Niles, was arrested for Theft at 7300 Niles Center Road, on 09/24/2013.

• Deal, Banks, D., 23, of Riverview Drive, Niles, was arrested on two counts of  Aggravated Battery on a Peace Officer, Criminal Damage to State Supported Property and Obstruct/ Resist a an Officer.  Deal, was observed running in the area of Gross Point Road and Main Street, without any clothing on.  When Skokie police attempted to place Deal under arrest a struggle ensued causing injury to two officers. 

• Hernandez, Eladio, 41, of Lamon Avenue, Skokie, was arrested for driving with a Suspended/Revoked Driver’s License on the 9700 block Lawler on 09/25/2013.

• Salinas-Gomes, Amalia, 39, of Northfield, was arrested for Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License on the 8900 block of Skokie Boulevard, on 09/25/2013.

• Gomes, Llovani, 23, of North Albany Street, Chicago, was arrested for Possession of Cannabis on the 3300 block of Howard Street, on 08/20/2013.

• Juvenile, 11, Skokie, was issued a Curfew Violation Citation on the 9100 block of Skokie Boulevard on 09/26/2013.

• Juvenile, 17, Niles, was arrested for Battery on the 7700 block of Gross Point Road on 09/26/2013.

• Brown-Stillwell, Keith, 18, of Dodge Street, Evanston, was arrested for Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor at 9300 Weber Park Place, on 09/26/2013.

• Castro, David, 24, of West Ainslie Street, Chicago, was arrested for Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License on the 3300 block of Dempster on 09/26/2013.
