Update: Suspicious Incident At School Proves Unfounded, Police Say

The man approached students at a time when no teachers were supervising the area, the Skokie Review reported.

Skokie Police Chief Anthony Scarpelli said Saturday morning that an investigation conducted by Skokie police turned up evidence the report of an unknown man approaching students at Middleton School before school started Friday was a false report. The department anticipates the school will send parents a letter to that effect Monday. 

ORIGINAL STORY

An unknown man approached two students who were on Middleton School grounds Friday morning before 8:15, the time when teachers begin supervision of the area where students gather, Skokie Review reported. 

No students were harmed.

Middleton School, part of Skokie District 73.5, is at 8300 N. St. Louis Avenue.
