The 30-year-old Evanston man who was shot and killed Saturday has been identified as Floyd Gibert, 30, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
A representative for the medical examiner's office said he lived in the 2000 block of Ashland Avenue in Evanston.

Original story:

A 30-year-old Evanston man was shot and killed in the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue, Evanston, around 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, according to police.

Shortly after the shooting, a traffic crash took place at Green Bay Road and McCormick Boulevard, Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott said in a press release. He said police believe the accident was caused by a second person who was trying to take the man to the hospital.
